Well, then, I think the implication is, if you are one of the elect that is, if you really know Christ you’re indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and you’re walking in submission to Him, and in obedience to His Word, and you are meditating upon the Word of God, you know the Word of God, you cannot be deceived by these guys. You would know. The only two verses I can think of is Matthew and Mark and they both appear to say ‘if it were possible, even the elect could be deceived’. Does the phrase ‘if it were possible’ infer that it is impossible for the elect to be deceived, because of the indwelling Holy Spirit that helps us to discern truth from error?
